Moravian Aerospace Cluster
5M s.r.o. has participated as an active founder-member in the establishment of a professional association of businesses and companies MORAVIAN AEROSPACE CLUSTER, which, as its main objective seeks to draw together companies in Moravia that are associated with the aviation industry into one organisational and interest unit.
The principle activities of this cluster will include:
- Supporting a comprehensive range of both research and development activities and of production capacity (construction of airframes, avionics, composites, etc.)
- Establishing a stronger standing for individual businesses seeking to obtain contracts from abroad
- Enhancing cooperation between the organisations associated in the cluster (trade and/or development)
- Creating an entity with a strong representation in respect of negotiations with State Authorities

The cluster currently consists of a total of 25 companies, which in addition to 5M s.r.o. include, for example, Aircraft Industries, Evektor, Mesit, Česká zbrojovka and Frentech Aerotechnik.
About one third of all the capacity of the Czech aviation industry is concentrated in Moravia. One of the additional important motivating factors behind the inception of this grouping is the fact that the larger aviation producers have an interest in purchasing entire assemblies, something that the cluster would be able to provide for them. Czech companies would thereby also be afforded a potential opportunity for cooperation with the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership, through which Czech companies could also benefit through contracts for NATO.
According to the CzechInvest agency, the Czech aviation companies, due to their lack of cooperation, relegate themselves as suppliers at a much lower level in the supply chain, compared to their potential capacities. The ambition of the cluster that is being established is to change this.
